DNC Mile High: Protest turns violent

Yesterday I was on the receiving end of a few police batons and lucky enough to only inhale trace amounts of pepper spray--and that was plenty for me. Thankfully the baton hits were gentle as they moved me out of the way and the tear gas/pepper spray was not a direct hit like which is more than I can say for some of the protesters. Definitely a day of adrenaline! See video below or on the USA TODAY On Politics Blog (with commentary!) and look for the long chaotic clip where I hit the deck while rolling.

  1. Hey man, you know how to start with a opening hook, but I'm glad the batons were only gentle guides and there were only trace amounts of pepper spray. What a rush indeed. If you need me to accompany you on one of your stories to provide some security or hold something, let me know. ;-v

    James- cool!

Eliza- They were not very vocal about who they were. It was an anarchist group of some sort. Everyone looked like they were under the age of 25.
